So, we had to do a caricature in Illustration and I decided to do Amanda Lepore. Now the trouble with Amanda is that she's... sort of a caricature already... So every time I drew her it seemed like she was just a super-exagerated caricature of any random hot chick. So I kept looking into her and found this quote wherein she stated that her goa was to be half way betweem Jessica Rabbit and Marilyn Monroe. So I planned to do the three of them at a bar, with the two others looking at Miss Lepore in horror. The composition was a NIGHTMARE and the last thing I wanted was a repeat of the last assignment (where I didn't realize the composition was bad until it was too late and I almost re-didthe whole thingwith anewfilm anditwasreallybadand Iwas inablindpanicanditsuckedandIwantedtohide
undermybed andcry...) Heh, so anyway I finally worked out the composition the class before the piece was due and I brought it to Barker and... he... shot it down. But he suggested the one thing I had been avoiding like the plague: symetry. And so it was and so it is.

Final, as handed in:
The spotlight doesn't show up well so I am currently revising (Oh! and I have to add sparkles to Jessica's dress)

Figure work: Portraits

Some figure stuff, still have to post the ink/pencil figures from before but Forgard collected them.

I really have no idea how long either of these took but they're ink and wash, applied with a palate-knife

These were 6-Minute studies, we spent the day doing facial expressions and modeling for one another.

That is all for Today! Love and Coffee,

I have been enjoying figure class lately, we did some work with ink and then we did pencil and ink together and now we are doing clothed figures in pencil+ink. I am also posting a FEWS clothed figure:
40-min

45-min

45-min

The third one may have been longer than that, and I also had to do the inking outside of class, so that's more time. I need to go back in and shade over that crescent-shape on his thigh, I know it was lighter than the leg, but it wasn't this light.

Behold, for I have graphically designed... sorta

Had to do two posters for an imaginary poster show at the MoMA. The first is text only, the second had to be in the style of the Stenberg Brothers.
Joe let me shoot photos of him to use for this, I really like he shot I ended up with, though I think I made a mistake with the text placement... Oh well, we'll see in critique at 8:30 ^_^!
