Ink Figures, Ill Final and GIC as presented in class

First we have figure. We played with ink the class before last, first 3-minute studies with a pallet knife, chopstick and... um, oh! The eyedropper from the ink bottle! :
Next we did two 14-minute studies, putting down a wash and ink lines, letting one dry while we worked on the other:
Finally we did a long pose with ink and washes, the foreshortening got lost on the legs, was 35-minutes I think:

Next we have Illustration I where we just finished the vintage film project:
And I got back my Personal Identity Project from GIC:

All for now! Love, and coffee,

Mock Preparation H Ad

Most recent assignment for Illustration. We had to do an ad for Preparation H:

You can see it without the logo on my other blog. This is the biggest gouache piece I have ever done and as such it was sort of hard. I was not prepared to work with it on such a large scale, but the challenge was good.

Mostly Sketches

First, two more sketchbook pages. Themes are, Crown, Llama, Coat of Arms, Atom Bomb, Korean and Nurse:
Also, we had an assignment due in Intro to GIC. We had to make a business card, stationary and an envelope. The business card went over best:
The class felt that the other two pieces were too busy, they were right
Anyway, that's all for now! And don't worry about me, regarding Joe. It's okay. I'm okay, so don't worry and a couple of you should expect a call soon.

Happy St. Valentine's Day!

Finished it. Talked to Joe. Finally admitted to myself that there is no future with him. He doesn't have strong feelings for me. I knew that. It's okay.

3 classes worth of figure

I will no longer be posting any gestures, unless I do something new, but I finally got more spray fix and was thus able to fix and store my figure work from the last three classes! Yay!

We did clothed studies, but we didn't do gestures first so I wasn't warmed up so this is the best work I did that class.

After the clothed studies we did a long nude study, 30 Min

This guy is awesome! 10 Min

Just the next two sketchbook pages

Topics here are: Cave, Tea, Wash(self), Bellows, Historical Figure and Flower:
With current economic news in mind Keynes seemed an appropriate choice for a historical figure ^_^

Ill and GIC

In Illustration 1 we've been working on two projects. The first is an advertisement for Preparation H, which is currently moving toward color studies. The other is a vintage film illustration. I have already posted some thumbnails for that project but I have the final to show now. My film choice was The Lodger,
We'll be doing these in color on the computer soon,

Now, moving on. Intro to GIC (graphic interactive communication) has been torture. I have been trying hard to create items for this "Personal Identity Project"... TORTURE. Here's a summary of the assignment: "Create a business card, an envelope and stationary that express who you are and show what you can do but don't limit your job possibilities." >_< GAH! I worked all weekend creating an image for this assignment, it's posted here:
Sorta cute, burning incense, hot coffee, mountains, and a kitty

It's me, pretty much, but it looks like cheesy clipart. It's kinda boring. Taft agreed and we are moving forward in a different direction. But it is sort of cute so I thought I would post it anyhow.

Finally a personal project, a Valentine's Day gift for Joe:
Have started painting it. Hope I get it done in time.

And that is all for now!

Daily Work

The themes here are Facepaint, Hat and King, the other sketches are for the Vintage Film project:

Here the themes are Pearl (the image is related to Neil Gaiman's short story Cinnamon), Egg, Profile, Landscape, Grenade, Love and Angel:

The love piece began as a Venus and then became a fairy and that wasn't working so I covered it in glitter glue and that wasn't working, so then I thought, I'll add a guy! ^_^ it still doesn't work, but whatever.
All for now! Love and Coffee,
